Canción del Pirata

Avui us presento CANCIÓN DEL PIRATA, un llibre del qual n’he fet les il·lustracions i es basa en el poema romàntic de José de Espronceda i publicat per l’Editorial Base.

De vegades hi ha projectes que no saps per què, però en aquell moment t’activen alguna tecla que fa que la imaginació voli.

El plantejament va ser, convertir les il·lustracions en un gran viatge com si fos una aventura passant per diferents estats d’ànim: èpic, reflexiu, vibrant, rebel, inquiet, trist, feliç… Una aventura interior vestida de pirata. Un vell pirata que vibra recordant la vida que ha tingut i els tresors personals que s’endú com ara la mateixa bellesa.

Aquí us deixo uns apunts de com he anat construint les il·lustracions. Espero que us agradi.

A veces hay proyectos en los que no sabes muy bien por qué activan alguna tecla que hace que la imaginación vuele.

El planteamiento fue tratar de convertir las ilustraciones en un gran viaje como si se tratase de una aventura pasando por diferentes estados de ánimo: épico, reflexivo, vibrante, rebelde, inquieto, triste, feliz… Una aventura interior vestida de pirata. Un viejo pirata que vibra recordando la vida que ha tenido y los tesoros personales que se lleva como la belleza.

Aquí os dejo unos apuntes de como he ido construyendo las ilustraciones. Espero que os guste.

Today I present to you CANCIÓN DEL PIRATA (The pirate song) an illustrated book based on the romantic poem by José de Espronceda, illustrated by me and published by Editorial Base.

Sometimes there are projects that you don’t know very well why they activate some key that makes your imagination run wild.

The approach was to try to turn the illustrations into a great journey as if it were an adventure going through different moods: epic, reflective, vibrant, rebellious, restless, sad, happy… An inner adventure disguised as a pirate. An old pirate who vibrates remembering the life he has had and the personal treasures that he takes from this life such as beauty.

Here I leave you some notes of how I have been building the illustrations. I hope you like it.

A la recerca de Tutankamon

Aquesta coberta i les il·lustracions del l’article de l’interior sobre la descoberta de la tomba de Tutankamon a la revista Cavall Fort, és un dels treballs que més he disfrutat i que m’ha fet patir una mica en el sentit de la quantitat de detalls i precisió. D’altra banda, m’ha fet viatjar al fascinant món egipci i aprendre coses interessants d’aquest fet i que sempre ha estat envoltat de misteris.

Ho podeu veure a la revista Cavall Fort, en el número 1435, primera quinzena de maig de 2022.

Esta portada junto con las ilustraciones interiores del artículo sobre el descubrimiento de la tumba de Tutankamon de la revista Cavall Fort, ha sido uno de los trabajos que mas he disfrutado y a la vez he sufrido un poco por la cantidad de detalles e información. Por otro lado, ha sido fascinante viajar por el mundo egipcio y aprender cosas interesantes de este hecho que siempre ha estado rodeado de misterios.

Lo podéis ver en la revista Cavall Fort, número 1435m primera quincena de mayo del 2022.

This cover and the interior illustrations of the article on the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Cavall Fort magazine, has been one of the works that I have enjoyed the most and at the same time I have suffered a bit due to the amount of details and information. On the other hand, it has been fascinating to travel around the Egyptian world and learn interesting things about this fact that has always been surrounded by mysteries.
